Progress

While Salt Lake City is planning to get people out of their cars and onto mass transit, Freiburg, Germany has given us something to aspire to

Meanwhile, we still have people in Utah who think we can drive our way out of this mess.  Check out this article from the president of The Sutherland Institute, the same group our buddy LaVar Christensen was writing papers for while serving in the State Legislature.

  1. Well Paul T. Narrow is right about one thing, Trax does not create less congestion, but people riding Trax does. You think someone working for a think tank could get that... What Mr. Narrow and his think tank need to think about are incentives to get more people to ride (and commute) using Trax. What is a consertive think tank anyway??? Is that where they come up with great ideas but since they are consertive they only let you know about half of the great idea?? Example: Conservative Think Tank Person 1; "Lets build less roads" Conservative Think Tank Person 2; "If we say 'Lets build roads' we save one word" Conservative Think Tank Group; "Brilliant"

  2. The Histories channel's 'History of New York' 18 series has a section of what roads do to communities.
They actually, at one point, were going to raze Greenwich Village for a mid town expressway, then they woke up and realized what the Cross-Bronx expressway did to the city and said no. But sheesh those monster SUV's with only the driver in them need more roads.
And then there's the Draper Citizen's whose real estate agents promised them trax wouldn't go on those unsed rail routes near the houses, never ever, I promisseessss.
    Morons.
